Praher 150-CV-TRI Check Valve

The Praher 1-1/2 in. check valve prevents water from flowing back toward the equipment when the pump stops: it protects the heater, chlorinator, blower, and pump from backflow and chemicals. Its union design allows it to be removed for maintenance without cutting the pipe, and the three included springs (1/4, 1/2, and 2 lb) let you adjust the opening pressure to suit your system. Installation

• Solvent-weld the 1-1/2 in. connections using PVC cement, following the molded arrow on the body, which indicates the direction of flow.
• Hand-tighten the union nut only: overtightening may damage the seal.
• Choose the spring according to the application: 1/4 lb for minimal backpressure, 2 lb when firmer retention is required.
• The internal check valve is reversible, allowing the flow direction to be reversed if needed.

Applications

In-ground and above-ground pools, spas, and hot tubs: protects heaters, chlorinators or bromine dispensers, blowers, and pumps installed below the water level. Also used to prevent lines from siphoning when the system stops.
