- Fiberglass inground poolChoose a robot with foam or PVA brushes to avoid scratching the surface. Dolphin models are ideal.

A pool robot is electric and autonomous — it has its own motor, filter and navigation system. It does not depend on your pool pump. A suction cleaner connects to the skimmer or return line and uses your pump's power to operate. The robot is more efficient but more expensive to buy.
Cordless robots (like the Aiper models) have come a long way and are very practical for small and medium pools. For large inground pools, a corded robot (like the Dolphin or Hayward models) generally offers better suction power and a longer cleaning cycle thanks to continuous power.
Yes, mid-range and high-end models clean the floor, the walls AND the waterline. Entry-level models are generally limited to the pool floor. Check the model's specifications before buying.
