SpaGuard is BioGuard's sister brand, specializing exclusively in chemicals for spas and hot tubs. Their formulas are designed for small volumes of hot water, unlike pool products which are not suitable for spas.
No, it is not recommended. Spas have a much smaller volume of water and a higher temperature than pools. SpaGuard products are dosed and formulated specifically for these conditions. Using pool products could damage your spa or irritate your skin.
Spa water should be tested and treated 2-3 times a week with a sanitizer (chlorine or bromine). A shock treatment is recommended after each heavy use or at least once a week. The complete spa water should be changed every 3-4 months.
