Aqua Flo pump volute O-ring

Aqua Flo (Gecko) 92200270 volute O-ring, also identified as O-228. It seals the pump housing (the volute) on Aqua Flo Flo-Master FMCP, Tub-Master TMCP, and CMCP center-discharge spa pumps, as well as the Maverick series.

This is the seal that prevents water from leaking between the two halves of the pump housing. When it flattens or cracks, water escapes through the separation joint and flows directly onto the motor—that's how a spa pump eventually burns out. A volute leak is fixed by replacing this seal, not the pump.

Always replace it whenever you open a volute, even if it looks fine. A seal that has been compressed for years never regains its shape once reinstalled and will start leaking again.

Note on numbering: O-228 has nothing to do with the standardized AS568-228 size, which is much smaller. Rely on the dimensions above.

Installation tip

Clean the groove in both halves of the volute before reassembling, lubricate with pool-grade silicone grease, and tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern, gradually. Uneven tightening deforms the seal and allows water to leak through.
