Description
The X10 Water Filter will eliminate many hot tub water quality problems.
The tap water, well water, or lake water you fill your hot tub with is probably not as pure as you might think. Impurities such as copper, calcium, sodium, iron, mercury, and other heavy metals can be harmful to bathers, damage your hot tub components, and make water balancing difficult. These deposits can severely damage the heater, jets, pump, and shell of the hot tub. They also make water balancing difficult and can alter its quality.
The X10 Water Filter is a spa pre-filter (hose filter for hot tubs) that can reduce and remove rust, organic debris, turbidity, bad taste, chlorine, sulfur, odors, aluminum, iron, mercury, and other heavy metals.
Spa chemicals such as clarifiers, coagulants, flocculants, and stain/scale removers reduce these impurities, but do not completely eliminate them. A spa pre-filter, like the X10 Filter, significantly reduces (or even eliminates) the need for these products, for a healthier and more enjoyable experience.
We highly recommend the X10 Water Filter for those who want to reduce the amount of chemicals used for their hot tub water maintenance.
Using filtered water is particularly recommended if you use a bromine or chlorine salt chlorine generator. These devices will not work properly if your hot tub water contains too many impurities.
Why X10 is Better Than the Competition
- Highest quality acid-washed coconut shell activated carbon is used. Many competing filters use cheaper bituminous (coal-based) activated carbon.
- The 12-inch long filter body contains up to twice as much bacteriostatic filter media (KDF®) as some other brands for maximum longevity, efficiency, and performance.
- The X10 hose filter for hot tubs is uniquely designed with 7 filter materials.
- Integrated 5-micron sediment filters, upstream and downstream, to minimize sediment and turbidity. Some brands use filters up to 150 microns. (The lower the micron count, the finer the particles retained.)
- The X10 filter is made of highly UV-resistant polypropylene, making it a robust filter (less likely to be damaged by dropping or other factors), in addition to excellent UV protection.
- These molded garden hose fittings are extremely robust and durable, ensuring a perfect seal and optimal connection, unlike the fragile nylon fittings of some other brands that cross-thread and leak. Furthermore, other cheap brands use seemingly durable brass fittings that can actually contain lead that can leach into the water.
- The highly compact filter material virtually eliminates any risk of "channeling." Channeling can occur when loose filter material settles and allows water to bypass it.
- Protective caps are included for storage (to be kept moist) when not in use. Unlike activated carbon filters that promote bacterial growth, our spa pre-filter prevents it thanks to the KDF® media. After the first use, the filter media must be kept moist to preserve its activity and prevent bacterial formation.
Instructions : Attach the pre-filter to your garden hose and run water through the filter for 30 seconds before filling your hot tub. Replace when full and flow is reduced. The X10 Water Filter guarantees a minimum filtration capacity of 10,000 US gallons (37,854 liters) of water.
